Transfer files from Personal Share drive to OneDrive (PC)
Step 1. To transfer files from your personal share drive, OneDrive needs to be installed and running. Please see step 2 on how to check if you have OneDrive running on your machine. Step 2. Open your file explorer and your personal OneDrive will be listed under the left side menu under the name OneDrive – Webster University. Picture below. If you do not see the onedrive icon, please follow these instructions. Step 3. Open two file explorer windows side by side and copy paste folders/files as needed. You will see once you drop files over, OneDrive will indicate it has started the sync process of moving copies up to the cloud. See picture below for reference.

Step 1. Once you have successfully installed OneDrive and synced to your computer, you can now start the transfer of files. Be sure to compete to installation and sync file before you continue. Step 2. Open your file explorer and go to your source of local files you wish to upload to OneDrive. Your personal OneDrive will also be listed under the left side menu under the name OneDrive – Webster University. Picture below. If you do not see the onedrive icon, please follow these instructions. Step 3. Open the windows side by side and copy paste folders/files as needed. You will see once you drop files over, OneDrive will indicate it has started the sync process of moving copies up to the cloud.

Personal OneDrive Install and Sync Steps (PC)
These are the steps to sync up your personal OneDrive storage account with your computer. Step 1. Install the OneDrive client by using the following link below. If you already have the OneDrive client proceed to Step 2. If you have on older out of date client version, please remove it and install the one from the link. https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=248256 Step 2. Launch the exe file and install the app. Step 3. Once the taskbar icon appears, hit right click and select “Sign in”. Enter your work email and hit sign in. Step 4. Select “Work or school” if applicable, and be sure the location is listed under C:\. If you choose you want to change the location of the Folder, please hit “Change Location. It is recommended to keep it at C:root Step 5. Your Online OneDrive files will start to sync to the folder location you have chosen. Upon launching the windows file explorer, you will see a similar menu on the left-hand side. Step 6. After the first Sync is complete, you may start using it. You are Finished.

Personal OneDrive Install and Sync Steps (Mac)
These are the steps to sync up your personal OneDrive storage account with your computer. Step 1. Install the OneDrive client by using the following link below. If you already have the same OneDrive client proceed to Step 2. If you have on older out of date client version, please remove it and install the one from the link. https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=823060 Step 2. Launch the dmg file and install the application. Step 3. On the top menu click “Go” then “Applications” and find OneDrive icon. After launch it should prompt you to sign in. You should see a similar image as below. You may also receive the “You’re not signed in” pop up if you have used OneDrive from before. Step 4. After you signed in, OneDrive should start syncing down. The OneDrive icon should be visible in your taskbar on the top right as well as when you open Finder on the left side menu. It will display OneDrive-Webster University. Step 5. After the first sync is complete, you may start using it.

Microsoft Teams file share sync to Computer (PC)
Microsoft Teams file shares sync with your OneDrive to Computer (PC) These are the steps on how to properly sync your new Microsoft Teams file storage with your OneDrive client on your computer. Step 1. Be sure to complete the personal OneDrive install and sync before completing these steps. The instructions can be found on this link. Step 2. Open your MS Teams application on your computer. It should be part of your applications installed on your machine. If it is not, you may submit a ticket to the service desk by emailing support@webster.edu. Step 3. After MS Teams opens, on the left-hand side please find the Team you are wanting to sync files from. There may be multiple teams you are part of so please choose the right one. Step 4. Once the Team is selected it should look like the image below. You will always see the team name below the logo and the general channel. You may or may not see further sub channels depending on your access to them. These sub channels are created on how each department categorizes files. Some may be private (indicated by the lock icon) and others may be open to all. General channel will always be open and visible to all team members. See image below. Step 5. Select the channel on the left side you wish to sync and then proceed to click on the Files tab in the upper menu bar. The image below is an illustration of an empty file channel. Step 6. Select “Sync” shown in the image below. A box will open indicating “Your files are being synced”. Step 8. After the sync is in progress, Microsoft OneDrive will have notified you are now syncing the folder. Open your windows explorer and you should now see the “Webster University” tab with a drop down of the channel you synced. You are now synced with your channel. You may follow the same steps and sync additional channels you have access to.

How To Share a Folder in Office 365 OneDrive
The following steps will guide you on sharing a folder in Office 365 One Drive. Step 1. Sign into Connections. Step 2. Click on the icon at the top-left corner of Connections that shows the Nine dots. Step 3. Click on the OneDrive icon Step 4. Click the blue “Add New” button near the top-left corner of the screen. Step 5. Select “Folder.” Step 6. Create a name for the folder you want to share. Step 7. Click “My Files” on the left-side of the screen. Step 8. Right-click on the folder you want to share. Step 9. Select “Share.” Step 10. You can type in specific names of any Webster University member you would like to share the folder with. Step 11. Additionally, if you would like to change the share options, click the gear icon. Step 12. You can choose the specific share settings from here. Step 13. Select the appropriate settings for how you wish to share your folder. Step 14. Click “Apply.” Step 15.
